Summer Research 2007
Furman students in physics and related fields are working this summer through Furman's Advantage research program. Students in the Furman Advantage program participate in 10 weeks of full-time collaborative work with a Furman professor. Results from these projects are usually presented at regional and or national conferences.

Optics: Dr. Baker and Dr. Wang. Students will characterize the optical properties of fluids and nano-structures using the Physics Department's optics laboratory and facilities of Clemson University.

Dedicated Interferometer for Rapid Variability: Dr. Moffett - Rising senior, David Edwins, will join faculty and students from Furman and UNC-Asheville to finish the construction of a radio interferometer at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute.

Special Projects:
An Evaluation of Modified Newtonian Dynamics by Simulation in a Parallel Computing dddEnvironment
