SRT first light
During the summer of 2004, Michael Petrides and Dr. Moffett constructed a 2.3-meter small radio telescope (SRT) at the on-campus observatory for monitoring solar flares at 1420 MHz.  It can also observe the spin-flip transition of neutral hydrogen from our own Milky Way galaxy.  The telescope came as a kit from the CASSI Corporation.
